Blaze doesn't count all steps or floors

Hi,

i have a Blaze and I have noticed for a while that it doesn't register all my steps or floors climbed.

I have tried restarting it a few times but that doesn't fix the problem.

Anyone know now how to fix this issue?

Thanks

Hi, @SunsetRunner, Blaze will only count floors that have at least 10 feet of elevation and you need to be moving continuously for it to count.  It will need to detect steps at the same time as elevation, so it is possible that if you hang on to the bannister using your Blaze arm it may not count even if the flight of stairs is high enough.

The Blaze may not count all your steps if you are particularly light on your feet -- that is because it needs the vibrations from your feet to travel through your body and along your arm to your wrist. This is most likely to happen when you are stepping indoors, particularly on soft carpet, which will absorb some of the vibrations and make steps more difficult to detect.  Similarly if you walk pushing a shopping cart/trolley or a stroller/pushchair that will absorb some of the vibrations and may mean not all steps are detected.

It's great to welcome you @SunsetRunner, thanks for troubleshooting this issue by yourself and @Julia_G for stopping by.

If your tracker is not being accurate, I recommend restarting it. After the restart process, do the following:

  1. Walk 100 steps (let me know how many the tracker registered).
  2. Then find a location where you have 2 flights of stairs in a row, keep in mind that each flight of stairs should be at least 10 feet tall and walk them up without stopping and also let me know if the tracker registered this information.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy
