I've shared this before that my steps don't count when pushing a shopping cart. I was informed that it worked when people were running or walking pushing a stroller. I've actually resorted to putting my blaze in my pants pocket to count steps. I have other issues with mileage being correct, even when I'm using the gps function on my phone. Really disappointed with this $200 item.

It doesn't seem to accurately count steps when I'm walking while pushing a stroller. It does slightly better when I use the gps. But even the gps isn't accurate. I walked the same route 2 days in a row and there was a full half mile discrepancy between them. Very frusterating.

@jlkipeIt is definitely a pain.. Fortunately my large mall has that fine paving mix leading to the carparks and I can vibrate the steps. I also use the smaller trolley which I can handle one handed without skittling the customers. I lose typically 1,000-1,200 steps per supermarket visit but my "trusty" Fitbit One gives me the "real" count. I stopped putting my wrist type Fitbits in my pocket like you, I'd rather the HR.
If the difference is significant, I will manually add the difference, because I have already lost the advantage in Lifetime totals and Challenges.. Or I ensure I go at least 10% over my step goal when the tracker is tracking..
What distance problems are you having with the GPS. Is it overstating, understating, jumping over buildings etc..stopping and starting... or all of these ?

I have found the solution the my problem is like I think I mentioned earlier. I put my fitbit in my pants pocket. I initially found this works while at work I wasn't allowed to wear anything above my waist, so i would place it in a small jewelry type pouch and place in my pocket. It is actually fairly accurate. I tested it this morning while going on a walk.
