Blaze doesnt work with intensity workouts

I bought my Blaze 10 days ago and was happy with the fact it tracked everything I wanted during the day. When it comes to exercise I enjoy spin workouts, Insanity and other exercises that are sweaty!! My blaze doesnt track these workouts as it cant find my heart rate? The calories differ dramatically from the machine i'm on (by about 200+) calories! I spent 20 mins on one machine for my Blaze to tell me I had only burned 35 calories!!? I've looked at moving the Blaze further up and lower down my wrist, tightening and losening, but nothing works - Is there something wrong with my Blaze?

The last 3 days my Blaze has been 20-25 bpm off during strenuous exercise.  It's registering 101 when my heart rate is between 120 and 130 or 119 when it's above 140.  It's been pretty close until the beginning of this week, with 2 or 3 exceptions.  I measure it's accuracy against HR on carotid for 6 seconds, multiply by 10.  I've followed cleaning practices, moved it two - three finger widths above wrist; tightened, loosened strap.

Any one else having this intermittent issue?  Did you resolve it?

I know the fun in finding the right spot.  It took me about 7 months to find my spot.  For me it was on my dominent arm, very loose and right about my wrist bone.  I normally wear my fitbit on my left arm, but during exercise I wear it on my right arm.

All of the Firbit HR devices have trouble reading once they get sweaty, and as you exercise, at least for me, my arms swell, so what seems loose when I start walking, gets tight as I walk.  So I would normally wear my band around the 5th notch, I wear it on the 7th when I'm walking.

If you have a dark skin tone, or are tan, trying wearing it so it's on the bottom of your wrist where you skin is probably lighter in color.  Turns out darker skin is harder to read.

Good luck, like I said 8 months before I found the best spot...

I am a fairly hairy guy, so I actually started flipping my Blaze around so it sat against the pulse points on my wrist, which seemed to work well. I  finally shaved my arm under where my FB sits on my non-dominant arm, and that seemed to resolve the issue... at least for me.

@CJ2016 hmm, that's odd! To get the most accuracy out of your HR tracking on Blaze, please check out these tips for using our PurePulse technology while exercising!

@JohnRi thanks for sharing your personal PurePules tips from your own experience. Glad you've found something that works for you. @Bill_Dillard happy to hear you've found a solution for your HR readings as well - even if that means shaving your arm where the tracker sits! That's some heart rate dedication right there. Glad it's working out for you!

I've also relocated this thread to the Blaze Help Forum so that it can get a bit more attention from our Blaze moderators!
