Hello!
So I just got my blaze a couple of days ago and I really enjoy it. HOWEVER my phone battery is draining BADLY. I turned off all day sync and it's still happening. If I turn off always connected, I feel like I won't get my calls and texts which is one of the main reasons I got this model to begin with.
In addition, I'm having problems syncing to my phone!!! So it's draining my battery and NOT syncing when I ask it to.
Lastly, if I turn off my data (because it drains my data as well), it tells me it cannot sync because it can't connect to fitbit.com. This is ridiculous because all of the information I can find tells me it doesn't need wifi OR data connection in order to sync.
I'm becoming increasingly frustrated and if this persists I will be returning it. I need to be able to use my phone all day - my battery is now depleted within hours when I used to not have a problem at all with it lasting all day!

My only thought is to turn off the GPS on the phone except when you are using it for tracking. I don't know what kind of phone you have but you might try removing and then re-inserting the battery. This would have the effect of re-booting the phone in the event there is something running in the background that is draining the battery other than the Fitbit.
Before returning the tracker, you might have someone look at the phone to make sure it isn't an issue with the phone rather than the tracker.

@Katey5678 im not sure what phone you have, this would be nice to know since it is tye subject of your post.
On Android there is the ability to see which apps are using and how much they are using both battery and network. I just checked mine in the last 30 days Fitbit used .5 meg of network data. What surprises me is that i only used 10.6 gig, ususlly it is up at 25gig.
Fitbit today used about 3% of my battery. I have always connect on, notifacations on, and the blaze gets email, text, fitbit, my global warnings, and facebook messanger IM's, plus caller ID. Then at home there is 4 trackers the app monitors so with every sync sometimes 3 units get synced twice, meaning uo to 7 syncs can happen with one sync request.
You might want to contact fitbit and have them look at the back end of your tracker.
If it is not syncing, then no comunication is going on and it should not be draining the battery, but habeing the phones display turned on during the trying to sync will drain the battery.
As for needing an internet connection, it is well documented that all syncing is between the tracker and the fitbit server and an internet connection is required.
As for location @John917 if your running Marshmellow than yes it needs to be turned on to sync.
