The green diodes on the back of my Blaze quit working a few days ago. Do these necessarily serve a purpose or are they just gratuitous 'bling'?

That is the heart rate sensor.

Ha! I turned the heart rate "off" because my clock face started to intermittently tell me my pulse under the time instead of the day and date. Why the intermittent pulse info (instead of the day/date) started, I don't know?
Being self-employed, I have a hard time remembering the day/date almost all time, so I find it irritating when I need the day/date info, I find I have a pulse of xx! Ironically when this happens, I get to see my pulse rise within a few seconds due to the frustration!!!!

If you tap on the date/time it will switch to pulse rate (if turned on, seems to have a black background if turned off) and tap when on pulse rate it will go back to date/time

Ha again! I realized the green diodes quit at the same time my watch face turned black-- So I thought my wishes for a high contrast (black and white) watch face had been answered!
I never knew that tapping on the pulse would bring up the day/date and vice-versa.
So now the clock has returned to the ugly low-contrast gaudy colors as before.
So I guess I will turn off my pulse option again. At least now I will know why the green diodes don't work!

Have you downloaded your manual or read the Blaze101 guide?
Scroll down, tap on help, tap the picture of your tracker, from here you can read both, and have access to the online interactive help guide. This may be easier than the manual for you.
