Blaze heart rate consistently tracks lower

My new blaze consistently tracks my heart rate 10-15 beats lower than it is. My HR was pretty accurate.  Given it's the same tech, this is annoying at best. Is it faulty?  Plus I went out for two 2.5 mile walks today and at about 1.5 miles in, there was a weird spike right up to nearly 170 bpm - I was only walking!  It's March in the UK - not exactly hot!  Both spikes at the same time in both walks, hours apart. Very strange.  Any ideas?

I have lots of experience with HR and Surge (hundreds of hours tracking tennis singles) over the past 18 months.  My Blaze is tracking very low.  My regular tennis hitting partner has the Blaze also.  He is not having the problem.  

 

I have researched and experimented with placement high and tight on my wrist.  Makes no difference.

 

I will be returning my Blaze for a replacement.
