Blaze heart rate not working and battery is draining fast

Hello admin! I'd like to share my problem on my blaze which is 19 months old. It's already been a week since the heart rate monitor on my device is not working. Also, the battery is draining fast. I am charging it for 2-3 times already in a day because it drains fast even after few hours from being charged. I hope I can get a help for my issue. Thanks.

Welcome on board @vBlaise! My first recommendation would be to make sure that the heart rate monitor is turned on in the settings. For this, swipe to the last screen on your tracker and go into the settings. Here, look for the heart rate option and make sure it's set to either On or Auto.

If the heart rate monitor is On in the settings but it's still not working, you can give your Blaze a quick restart. You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

On the other hand, in regards to the battery drain. I'd recommend letting your device to run out of battery to charge it again. Keep an eye on it to see how the battery goes. You can also see, Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?

As a side note, we recommend to charge your trackers via the USB port over a wall adapter. However, it is also possible to charge your Fitbit tracker with a UL certified wall adapter. What may actually cause damage to the tracker's battery (either on a computer or a wall adapter) is the charging time, which if excessive over time may damage the battery and therefore cause quick battery drain or prevent the tracker from charging at all.

Tips to best charge Fitbit trackers are:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

experiencing the same proble with my Fitbit Blaze. Have tried all of the above recommendations and the problem is not resolved. Does the admin have any other suggestions?

I am also having the same issue. Have you noticed if the green LEDs on the back of the watch stay on all the time? It seems as if something happened where the heart rate monitor doesn't work and the LEDs stay on all the time draining the watches battery.

I've tried allowing the battery to drain completely, restart, turn on, and off the heartrate monitor. Nothing seems to work in correcting the perceived issue.

I’ve tried everything suggested in numerous posts. This seems to be a common problem with these devices. I have given up on trying to reboot the device. My Fitbit Blaze is two years old. Neither the heart rate or sleep tracking are functioning. I have had two of the charge models and this Blaze. I have had problems with all of them. The device still has all of the other functions. The Apple 6 series is due to release in September 2020. I will be purchasing one of those.
