About 2 weeks ago, I made the switch from the charge to the blaze. I thought it was very appealing and I liked the idea of having a HR monitor with a touch screen. I was comparing the 2 products and I noticed that my burned calories is much higher with the blaze than it was with the charge. I understand that HR is now a factor but I dont believe that it is correct. When I had the charge, I was burning anywhere from 2200 - 3100 calories per day (3000 was my goal). With the blaze, it claims that I'm burning 3500-5000 per day (I upped my goal to 4000). I feel like this is too high as I have not changed my daily routine.
Some details about myself...
Weight: 235 lbs
Height: 5' 8" (bmi is about 33)
Workouts: Treadmill 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes (I use the C25K app), I bowl in 2 leagues for 2.5 hours each league, I play basketball for about an hour once a week.
My job is a field technician job so I drive for about 20-45 minute intervals and work on site for about 20 minutes no strenuous work (this lasts for about 6 hours).
I average about 5500 steps per week.
Another issue I am having is that it shows that I am eating under my desired caloric intake but I am stuck not losing any weight. I will say I was 242 and dropped down to 235 in 3 weeks so that was nice and it worked like a beaut but this is when I had the charge, sice I bought the Blaze I have been stuck not losing anything. I collaborate using MFP, my deficit is -750 calories per day (1.5 lbs per week). Fitbit shows that I am under budget by over 2400 calories (I'm not sure how to post a screen shot but one example of quite a few is Wednesday March 16th). Fitbit is showing me I put out 4951 calories. It is showing I have 251 active minutes (I have another issue with this too I will get to this later) as I played basketball for an hour and bowled for 3 hours this day. I reached 11000 steps and 4.5 miles. I weiged in and I gained .5 lbs. I know you are probably thinking that I miscalculated my calories that I ate, but it's relatively close to accurate as I have been scanning bar codes to enter in my diary for this past week in other words I have been cautious about what I'm eating so I can count the calories. I just feel like my caloric output is being over estimated by a false HR. Any ideas about what's going on?
The last topic I am concerned with is the active minutes. As a total, it is showing (for a single day still using the pervious example) 251 active minutes. I go to look at the break down of what time of day this is happening and how many minutes and the total is not even close to the 251. The break down is showing 104 active minutes which to me seems much more realistic.
I am getting inconsistent numbers and false readings and I am concerned as this product used to help me get healthy and lose weight. Now it has only been countering my progress and I'm not sure what's going on. I know I wrote a lot here but I need to get back on track and fast.

Hello @mattyp92 welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing details about what you experience with the Blaze. The reason why your may be getting some extra calorie burn could be if you are logging activities through Fitbit or using any third party app. The calorie burn estimate that Fitbit provides takes into account your BMR, the activity recorded by your tracker, and any activities you log manually. Your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the rate at which you burn calories at rest just to maintain vital body functions like breathing, heartbeat, and brain activity. Your BMR usually accounts for at least half of the calories you burn in a day and is estimated based on the physical data you entered when you set up your account: gender, age, height, and weight.
Make sure you are logging your weight so you can keep track of how much weight you are losing. Also I would like to ask some questions to better undestand your issue. Are you logging any activity? Are you using MFP to log activities? Regarding the active minutes you are mentioning did you log any activity during this time?
Keep me posted

mattyp92: I also bowl twice a week and walk on the treadmill 2 days a week for 30 minutes. Can you tell me how you are logging the bowling for the approx. 2.5 hours? I just got my Blaze on Friday. Thanks!

Hello @lpisarski welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂 I would recommend to use a exercise calorie burn calculator like this one to estimate the caloric burn of your activity and then log it on your Fitbit account. To log bowling you will have to create a custom activity.
I'll be around if you have any questions! 😉
