Blaze is tracking my distance inaccurately

yesterday , I walked 5532 steps which was equal to 2.32 miles. Today, I have walked 7280 steps so far and yet, my blaze is telling me  that I have only done 0.98 miles!! What?!!. How can that be? Has anyone had a similar problem?  My blaze was fully charged before I started walking.  I synched with my tablet  and it still gave me the same numbers
