Will reset in charger, however left button still not working. Purchased 15 months ago. Is there a solution to the problem? If not is there any consideration or allowance for a replacement?

It depends on where you are. The standard warranty runs for 12 months from purchase but this is extended to 24 months if you are in Europe.
Your best option would be to contact customer support. If they can't fix it then they can check your warranty status and advise on your options: contact.fitbit.com

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix the button issue you are experiencing. You may be able to remove dust or dirt by gently using a toothpick around the button. If this does not improve the button performance, you can try to clear debris using canned air. Hold the tracker at arm's length and spray once to loosen any dirt or dust that may have accumulated around the button.
