Hi there @Parkes0, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Blaze getting discounnected from the GPS on your phone all of a sudden lately.  Thanks for all the details. I'd like to help you out!

If you're receiving the Phone not found message, this means Bluetooth is turned off (preventing your Blaze from connecting to your phone) or your phone can't find a GPS signal. A weak GPS signal on your mobile device is often caused by environmental factors such as tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, or even thick cloud cover. All of these can interrupt the connection between your tracker and GPS satellites.

If this doesn't seem to be what is happening, make sure that all these requirements are met:

  • Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your tracker is connected (paired) to the phone. To confirm, go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and make sure you see Blaze on the list of devices.
  • (Android only) The Fitbit app is allowed to run in the background on your phone. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?
  • You selected an exercise type from the Exercise menu that has a gear icon in the bottom left corner. The gear icon represents connected GPS.
  • GPS is turned on for the exercise type. Tap the gear icon and make sure the Use Phone GPS setting is on.
  • Your phone is within about 20 feet of your tracker.
  • Your phone can identify your location and can track your location when you're not using Wi-Fi. For more information on which phone settings you may need to adjust, see How do I use multisport or exercise mode on my tracker?
  • The Fitbit app is open on your phone or running in the background. Do not force quit the Fitbit app.
  • (Android only) If your mobile device is running Android Marshmallow or later, see Why do I receive access requests from the Fitbit app on my Android mobile device?

If you're still having problems with this, you can try to open the Fitbit app to reestablish connection with your tracker and you can also try to reboot your phone and see if that helps.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

Hi. I'm having a similar issue to a few people on here it seems. I have a samsung a20 phone. My fitbit blaze connects to my phone before my run and the usually after about one mile the phone not found icon appears and then doesn't pick up the gps for he rest of my run. I've been through the list on your previous reply to somebody else and I'm still having the same problem.

Do you have any further suggestions?

I have honestly just been looking at Garmin watches. It's just frustrating because I've bought my wife a fitbit versa a couple of months ago now and hers is starting to do the same thing. They arent cheap and it seems to be a common problem. Not great really.

It got to the point of me sending info of all my runs where I lost connection and they sent me another pebble. After a week of that I'd had enough chucked them on ebay. Used the money toeards a garmin forerunner 235 and have not regretted it for 1 second. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
