I HATE MY BLAZE! I'm a big runner, 5k, 10k, half and full marathons etc so I'm not new to the Fitbit world. Yes it is calibrated, if I do NOT have my phone with me while I run then it will not count all of my miles. Example yesterday I ran 10 miles (a regular route) I did not have my phone and it only counted a whopping 3 miles. This morning same route took my phone and duh of course 10 miles. It's bull**ahem**

and how do you expect Blaze to count mile if it doesn't have GPS only thru the phone. why you hate things that you bought wihtout reading full specs?
if you run and need miles, speed and whatever based on GPS you should buy product with build it GPS module. no reason to hate Blaze.. it is not perfect but with GPS it is showing correct speed and miles.. tested with servera other applications and bike computer as well.

If you dont have the phone wth you, then your Blaze will not be able to count miles!
It will only be able to calculate miles.
Steps times stride = a proximate distance. Now if it is wrong, either the step count or the stride setting is wrong. There can be nothing else that can cause the miss calculation
