Blaze music control and notifications not working

My Fitbit Blaze is connected to my -Xiaomi Redmi Note 5a- but it isn't receiving notifications or able to control music. 

For notifications I tested with my messages app Textra, Instagram, and Discord. I got notifications from Instagram and Textra for a while but it isn't working anymore, and Discord just didn't work at all. The phone calls work sometimes though. 

The music app I use is just the default music app for my Xiaomi, and sometimes Dropbox. When I hold the top right button of my Blaze, it just says "no music." I've spent hours trying to fix this but can't figure it out. Any help?

NEVERMIND!!!!

I just had to shutdown both devices. I'm keeping this page up in case it stops working again though, so any tips of maintaining the connection will be very helpful!

The music control stopped working now. It worked when I was using headphones, and right not I'm not using headphones and it isn't working. Does music control have anything to do with using headphones?
