I have tried to restart my Blaze, but I am still not getting an accurate step count. It is significantly cutting me short on steps. After restarting my Blaze, I walked 20 steps with my Blaze while holding my husband's zip. The Zip gave me 24 steps. My Blaze only gave me 12. That is a significant deficit. I would appreciate any advice to get my accuracy corrected.

@misskitkat If it just started happening in the last few weeks, you should try rebooting by holding in the single and bottom buttons until the fitbit logo comes on. If that doesn't work, you should call fitbit for a replacement.

Try a 200 or 500 step count. I find my Blaze count off by the same amount of steps whether i take 100 or 1000 steps..

After having a 20% loss in steps, Fitbit sent me a replacement Blaze. That too gave me the same amount of loss. No idea if this is a hardware problem, a software problem, or something about the way I walk (and others here.)
I sent the Blaze back and got a Charge 2. This morning I put it through a test and walked 2000 steps, and checked the count after each 100 (no way I could count to 2000 in my head without losing track or getting distracted .... squirrel!)
I have to say there is an AMAZING difference, and I'll qualify, for me. Each time I checked after 100 steps, it was pretty much dead on, and a couple times was 3 steps off, but mostly always within a single step.
For those having problems with the Blaze accuracy that can still return it, you should consider it. I like the size & form factor of the Charge 2 better anyway.

I still don't have that issue, although I did switch it to automatically detect my steps.

@sf49erfan1965 how did you come up with the 3415 steps off in an hour.

@sf49erfan1965 Try swinging your arms less as you go, or even keeping your Blaze hand on your body. I've found that the Blaze counts fewer steps the more vigorously you swing your arms during fitness walking/ running. You could keep it in your pocket or clipped to somewhere on your trunk, but then you would lose the HR function.

@sf49erfan1965 The only other thing I can think to try is to disable all the auto-workouts. When fitbit introduced that feature when I had my Charge HR, I noticed that it thought all my workouts were Elliptical, even though I NEVER use one. It also started dramatically undercounting steps. When I disabled Elliptical in the auto-workouts, all day steps went back to normal, but fitness steps were still undercounted. It also stopped auto-detecting any workouts, so I just disabled the rest of the auto-workouts. I only got it to count fitness steps accurately by first keeping my Blaze hand on my body, then realizing I'd conditioned myself to not swing my arms a lot.
