Blaze not connecting/updating or syncing.

My brother in law gave me his blaze. I've had a Charge HR for years. Every time I try to connect the blaze it gives me an error message (after I've input the code) and says there was an error connecting. It still shows up in my account; however, so I'm able to select to sync or update. When I do update I get an error message that says "Something went wrong. There was an error while trying to update your device" and when I try to sync it gets pretty far and then just stops. I've deleted the app, removed my old fitbit, readded the app, restarted my phone, restarted the fitbit, reset the fitbit and turned on and off bluetooth. All the things I've read in the forums to fix these issues but still can't get it to work! Help!?

Meant to write Charge 2:) Not Charge HR.... And sidenote: after 1000 attempts I've given up on connected the blaze and have gone through and reconnected my Charge without any issues...
