Blaze not holding charge.

The blaze advertises a 5 day battery. When I orginially got it, it would last 2-3, which I thought was no big deal because I played with it alot. However, the last week or so my battery seems to be draining. Yesterday I let it fully charged and have made it a point to not play with it excessively since it was charged. It has been about 20 hours and I have < 1/4th battery remaining. Is there something going on in the background that is just draining my battery? I didnt pay this much to charge my watch daily and I can't find why the battery won't last.

Hey @WGB@TommyCanada and @shawnwilfong thanks for your participation in the Community.

As mentioned previously, your feedback about Fitbit Blaze is really appreciated but as recommended in several occasions, if you have already tried the instructions provide in this post and they didn't work, I suggest getting in touch directly our support team. For a faster response you can contact them via chat.

If you are curious about your warranty status check our warranty policy and if you were offered a discount in a next purchase and are interested in using it, you can check our comparison page, maybe there's another tracker that meet your needs.

Having the same issue with my Blaze. Contact support, all they offered me was a discount to buy another Fitbit. Also, was told that they used to send out replacements, but now that they are a global business, they can no longer provide that to customers after the warranty is up.

Perhaps while running a global business they can develop products that last more than 365 days.

Funny thing is I just got a replacement maybe two weeks ago and already the
battery will barely last a day. This is ridiculous.

Just got my Applewatch 4 love it more expensive up front but in the long run 2-300 Dollors every 2 years for a new Fitbit , it's a bargain. Will miss my data and a few other features, but I will never go back to Fitbit. 7 different fitbits over 6 years. Some replacements some 25 percent off. I was told I would love the blaze, I did until it didn't function as a smart watch and tracker like advertised have to carge every other day

15 pages of complaints about your product and you still give us the generic response! Come on Fitbit, wake up and improve your products.

Except we can't use it on the newer products...only the ones that have been out at least a year.

I'm having the same problem, but mine is lasting 3-4 hours only.  I agree, I didn't pay this much money for it to not work. It's only 5 months old as well.

I've done these things to minimize using the battery and it still will only stay charged about 3 hours. I contacted customer service in the instant chat and they said to wait for an update.  I'm not sure how an update will solve a battery issue.  I bought the FitBit Blaze to be able to do all the things it's supposed to do, but if I have to turn everything off for it to keep a charge it isn't working correctly it seems. What is your suggestion after trying these things and it still won't hold a charge?

Best Answer

They state to wait for an update because we're pretty sure it's a software/firmware issue and not actual hardware.  They just haven't told us yet.

Careful not to offend the moderator or they will delete your post.

Rather than develop a better product, they solicit another purchase.

Not good business.

I notice we're just getting the same message on repeat from the moderator now. That doesn't reassure me much.

Best Answer
They changed my user name because it was “Don’t buy” because it was inappropriate.

Similar issue, screen flashing red low battery within hours of charging, however when I place it in the charger I will get that it is anywhere from half to three quarters charged. Very frustrating. I have rebooted, charged it overnight, and have cleaned all contacts with alcohol. I have turned off about most features that I can, have to reconnect to Bluetooth when I want to sync, and don’t use the notifications. Might as well go back to the flex at this rate. I have to add that my Blaze is probably about three years old. This is my third Fitbit product, my husband has the Charge HR and my sister recently purchased the Charge 3. We are a Fitbit family and this issue is driving me a bit crazy. So what is the solution or reason for my issue?

Best Answer
There is no solution. Fitbit has a life of battery problem but will not address it. Might as well throw your Fitbit out rather than knock yourself out seeking a solution.

Actually there is a solution!

I went through 10 fitbits over the course of 7 years, got fed up with them not listening to the problems and switched to a Garmin product, never looked back and am totally satisfied with Garmin.

Best Answer
Yep, that's sounding very appealing right about now!

I only bought one and that will be my last.
