Blaze not listed when setting up new device on Win 10 phone

after a couple of years using a microsoft band 2, i just bought a blaze.  i installed the fitbit app on my windows 10 phone and logged in with my original account.  my flex was still listed, so i removed it.  however, the blaze is not listed in the list of available devices to add.  i uninstalled the app, reloaded it, and created a new account to go through the 'join' process.  it's not listed there, either.  ideas?

well, never ind.  turns out an upgrade i did a year ago was to win8.1, not win10.  i'm upgrading the phone to win10
