Blaze not pairing with LG G3

My Blaze will not pair with my Lg G3. Doesn't even show up when I do a BT scan. I have done all the troubleshooting steps, still can't find it. BT Classic works fine though :(. Not sure if it is my phone (it is on the compatibiltiy list) or the Blaze.

Hello @ScottAZ,

Welcome to the community!

Fitbit trackers do not pair the way conventional bluetooth devices do.  To appropriately set up your Fitbit:

  1. Install the Fitbit App on your phone.
  2. Log in to your existing account (presumably this one).
  3. Go to your account settings.
  4. Scroll to the bottom.
  5. Select "Add New Fitbit Device".
  6. Select Blaze and follow the instructions.

I hope this helps.

Doesn't it have to be paired to receive notifications (text/phone alerts)? I had a Surge and it was always paired with my phone.

@ScottAZ,

Yes, but the Fitbit App establishes the pairing on your behalf.  If you try to pair a Fitbit by conventional means, it'll likely refuse the pairing.

It also means that when you move to a new phone, all you need to to is install the Fitbit App and log in.  No need to mess with bluetooth settings.

Thank you for the info. Would you happen to know why I can't get text notifications on my Blaze?
