I can receive text/imessages, but not email or calendar alerts. Any advice?

I noticed same thing with most recent firmware update. I rebooted the phone, and the calendar updates are working now but no email alerts. I was reading about the update, and I think they've removed the ability to get email alerts. Now it's just calendar, texts and calls.

Really? That's too bad - that's certainly a good part of the reason I went with this version. May take it back. Thanks for letting me know.
