I have a Fitbit Blaze which isn’t counting floors, I have tried most things but won’t work?

@SunsetRunner, when you go up 10 feet your blaze will register 1 floor. So if you are going up and down under 10 feet you blaze will not register any floors. If you walk up 19 1/2 feet your blaze will register 1 floor. If you walk up 20 feet your blaze will register 2 floors. Remember walking up 10 feet = 1 floor.

@Aclobos it doesn't count down floors, if it did it would simply subtract them.

@SunsetRunner have you tried a restart of the tracker. Ok try 3 restarts in succession.

Another step would be to contact support.

@Rich_Laue, hello rich

I was using the example of going up and down flight of steps because I always see people using stairwells to exercise and they only go up 1 flight and come back down. If someone was using a using a Fitbit they would need to know that you have to go up 10 feet to register 1 floor. Going down will not subtract anything.

I should also ask how many steps where recorded during the up flight. If no steps where recorded then no flight credit will be given.

@Rich_Laue, I think Fitbit has a barometric pressure to detect elevation change, and therefore requires that you physically change elevation in order to properly record floors. I don’t think steps have anything to do with elevation.

The tracker doesn't look for changes in elevation until it detects the user is walking, @Aclobos

This is to help prevent false stair counting.

@Rich_Laue, I agree with you but if I walk a mile and the elevation changes by going up 10 feet the steps taken do not determine the elevation change.

Did I say the steps determine the change in elevation?

Please read my post again.

Logic:

If the user walking(Yes: then let's monitor for changes in salvation, No: let's not monitor for elevation)

Where you walking up the hill, then the tracker was monitoring for a change in altitude.

@Rich_Laue, ok I miss understood you when you asked how many step where taken on the up flight. Is it safe to say 10 feet up would equal an elevation change which would equal 1 floor register on the Fitbit watch. Thanks for correcting me on my choice of words.

10 feet should give one floor. Things are changing in the USA where home ceilings almost always where 8 feet. Raising the arm above the head would usually count this as a floor

@Rich_Laue, can ask you about the ionic watch. I was thinking about upgrading but not sure about the trade off. I don’t need all the new bells and whistles. I am interested on the waterproof part. Have you tested swimming with it? I’m happy with the blaze but would like something durable for swimming. How does the blaze compare to the ionic on the basic level. Something for me to think about when my blaze goes haywire. Thanks

I would like to know if you keep having issues with your Blaze? Have you get in touch with our support team, have they offer you a solution for this?

Hope to hear from you soon. Robot Happy
