Blaze not resetting at midnight

When I start up Fitbit Blaze in the am, it's adding previous days data so that I'm starting the day where I left off the previous day. Means that it looks like I'm doing double the steps / burning double the calories!

How can I make sure I start from scratch each day, other than just leave on as opposed to shutting down at night?

Tried the solution to reset steps and other data on the Blaze, but it did not work. The Blaze has the correct time and date on the face and it is syncing with my phone for notification. I tried restarting my phone and that did not work either. Any other ideas?

Has the blaze been resetting at night @ElizabethDarcy

As explained above, a restart will not change any steps already recorded.

As for not resetting and night, the most common cause usiwhrn the user turns the tracker off at nights.

@SunsetRunner as mentioned above, once the steps have synced to you Fitbit account, there is no way to remove the extra steps on today.

This is because they where recorded on yesterday.

A restart may prohibit today's steps from carrying me over to tomorrow..

If you received a new false badge, contact Fitbit and have them remove it.

May I ask if you where traveling across a timezone last night?

The Fitbit has been off for at least two months

With the Fitbit turned off, it off unable to see the clock switch from 11:59 to 12 and it might night realize that a new day has started. This could be why the day did not reset, but not knowing if the Charge 2 was turned on today or yesterday.

Also as soon as it is turned on you will need to do a sync to set the time. However this sync may have been the cause of steps getting transferred to today.

Yes, not knowing what time the Blaze was turned on that would be the best to do.

If you need a badge removed them please contact Fitbit.

Hi there @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems with this. As @Rich_Laue mentions, your tracker should continue to record your steps for the correct time once you get it to sync. Make sure that you do this regularly to keep the time on your Blaze correct and make sure that eveytime you turn off your tracker or if the battery drains and it turns off, once you turn it back on, you need to sync it for the time to be correct.

Let us know if you need more help!

Dear @AlejandraFitbit @My Fitbit blaze is brand new, using it for the third day now. I’ve switched it off at night as an attempt to save battery but now I learn that is why my steps, stairs climbed and distance covered has not be reset, but rather it continued counting from stats of the day before. Strangely, my active minutes and calorie count has reset successfully.

I have tried to restart my device holding down the left and bottom right button but still to no avail.

Can you please help me out with a proper fix for this issue?

Thanks

Once the steps have carried over to the next day you will not be able to delete them  a restart simply restarts the tracker,  this restart will reset any non working hardware but will not make changes to the data already collected.

If you received Amy badges @AlejandraFitbit will be able to help .

@Rich_Laue alright, the incorrect stats for today are not that important. I just want to be sure that it will automatically reset come midnight tonight having followed the aforementioned steps. In your experience, would this take place?

Is your Blazer syncing correctly @SohaEk itis during a sync that your clock's time will be corrected.

As long as the tracker is turned on when midnight strikes your steps will be reset.

Having calories start fresh every day would be expected since calories are not measured by Fitbit but calories are calculated

@Rich_Laue Yes the sync is correct. The correct time and time zone is being reflected as well.

I guess ill just have to wait for midnight and hope for the best!

Hi @SohaEk, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! Thank you for what you've already tried in order to solve this situation. As @Rich_Laue correctly mentioned, your Blaze will stop counting the time at the moment it goes off. Once you turn it back on, it will continue counting the time just where it left off before being turned off. If synchronizing it right after you turn it back on, doesn't reset your stats, I suggest that you don't turn it off at night. In order to increase your battery life, you can try these alternatives instead: Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?

Let me know how everything goes!
