Yes, that's true, but I think part of the issue is that if you get a phone call it should light up on it's own to show you who is calling. Not have to tap on it over and over until it decides to wake up. By then, I've missed the call.

It seems like most of us are experiencing the same issue. Tapping does not wake the clock and phone calls should wake it immediately. Do you think this is a hardware issue or software? In other words, if these issues are deal breakers for us do we return the device and wait for another or be guaranteed a software fix in the very near future?

That is assuming you have quick view on. I do not. I don't like it lighting up all the time especially at night, watching a movie or TV or anytime actually unless I want it to. It seems like a battery drain as well flashing on the watch anytime you move your wrist.

I found that if you really whack it, like a double tap as if you're giving a noogie, it will wake up all the time. Hopefully the glass is strong and the construction sound.

I have the same problem with tapping the Blaze screen to wake it up. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it takes many taps to wake it. Turning my wrist usually will wake it up but sometimes also it won't wake if the motion is not dramatic enough.
I used to have a Surge and screen stays on during exercise. This is especially useful during workout to see real time data and not having to wake it up to check. It is kind of annoying now having either to turn my wrist to see my HR or to tap it, which may not work.
Can it be set that during exercise, the screen will stay on all the time? This is critical for people who care about real time visual.
Thanks!

@David8732 if your looking for a moderator, then flagging one should help.
But to answer your question, two quick firm taps should turn the screen on. It can also be tùrned on by pressing a button or Quick view.

Hey Fitbitters! Thank you for the details that each of you have mentioned. That's correct Fitbit Blaze should wake up using both methods tap on it or using quick view.
When you're receiving a call, it will not wake up by itself, you should tap on it or move your wrist to see the notification, I don't think this is a hardware issue, it's just the way it was designed. However, you can always post your idea in the Ideas Board because those suggestions are viewed directly by our engineers and developers. You can also post the idea about keep the display on while you're exercising.
@Steffybee It's nice to see you around! This is still a bug. However, I'll make sure to post any update here.

@Steffybee I've noticed the same, yes it might be s bug, but i think the logic just needs fine tuning. Anyway i noticed that a very light tap seems to work best for me. Also giving a 2-3 second period between taps, seems to limit my frustrations.
