Unable to swipe side to side ... Any suggestions?

A restart usually clears it up @PattieMiller
hold in the left and bottom right buttons at the same time until your Blaze vibrates.
Push the left (home) button. Tap the screen and swipe from the right side to the left side to see "today" - did it work? everything should be OK now.

One other note i have.
A thin film of water or even hand cream on the display can halt the ability to swipe the screen. Isopropyl alcohol and a tissue will help with this.
