My fitbit blaze won't track cycling properly. When I start the exercise on my blaze it does not accurately count distance cycled, speed etc. A 5-6 mile bike ride might show as 0.11miles or other inaccurate amount. Also it will not track any steps at all in this time if I get off my bike and then will not sync to my phone and the only way to do this is to wait up to 24hrs until it finally does. I have tried resetting the app, the blaze and unistalled and reinstalled but nothing works. What is the point of a fitness device that won't track anything properly? Is there anything else I can try before I replace it with a different device? It used to work fine and I am unsure what caused it but it has been happening for months now.

Hi there @NickiB35. Good to see you in the Community Forums.
I'm sorry about your Blaze not recording your bike rides accurately. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to try these things to get your tracker to work.
Now, I'd like to know if when you're going on your bike rides, are you selecting the Biking activity from the exercise shortcuts? If you're doing this, are you waiting for your tracker to connect to your phone for it to work with the Connected GPS feature? This feature helps you get a more accurate distance tracking as you're using your phone's GPS. Also, while using the exercise tracking option, if you're tracking your bike ride, if you get off the bike, it will not track any steps as it will be currently recording just the distance and all other information.
Something that could work would be setting up your tracker as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.
Let me know if you need more help with this.

yesterday was the first time i tried using the bike tracking on my fitbit. i selected the bike option directly from the device. it recorded minutes that's it. i did have mapmyride open as well, and lucky i did otherwise my bike ride would not have been recorded. my phone is an iphone 7 so it compatible with the gps and it always connected daily with no issues. do i need to turn off the auto recognize on the outdoor bike option on the fitbit app? i just restarted my fitbit blaze just now, i will be riding my bike later on today again.
i think i figured out my own answer. i didn't have the fitbit app open and running in the background last night. i will try that tonight and see what happens

You're right @SunsetRunner. You need to have the Fitbit app running at least in the background and when you start your activity, you need to wait until the tracker says that it has connected to your phone to start your activity to ensure you'll get it recorded.
Let me know if need more help after trying that. Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

Hi,
I have the same problem, my blaze consider the period of the bike ride but not the distance, the calories or the heart rate.
You said, you have to make sure it is contacted to the phone before I start my ride. How would I know if it is contacted or not?
Thank you,

Mine is doing the same thing. It was so good for awhile and I have been bragging abt it to my friends. I am afraid toset a new device because my LG thinQ7 is not on the list. When I bought this phone all the data transferred to this phone. This phone does meet the requirements
