Blaze only works on charger, but doesn't actually charge

I have had my Fitbit Blaze for about a year 1/2 now and never had a problem until last week.

Last week my Fitbit died unexpectedly, so I put it on a charger. the second I took it off of the charger, it died again.

Now it only works while on the charger, though it does not actually charge.

I am not able to restart it because once I remove the Fitbit from the charger, it dies. 

I got it as a Christmas gift, and thus do not have the receipt details. 

Is there anything that can be done here, or am I SOL and need to buy a whole new Fitbit?

I am sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Fitbit Blaze which you received as a Christmas gift. Thank you for sharing that your tracker is not charging nor turning on when removed from the charging cable.
