This seems to be a common problem lately. My blaze only works in the charging cradle. As soon as I open the cradle it shuts off and will not respond in any way. In the cradle, it starts up and it is functional (as functional as a tracker can be not on your wrist). I updated the Fitbit app and I was able to sync it while in the cradle, but still the same.
Wondering if anyone has had luck with Support or figured this out.

I received the notification that the battery needed charging but when I put it in the cradle it would not re-charge. However Blaze works while it in the cradle

Same problem. As soon as the charger is open the screen goes black and there are no green lights on the back. The blaze shows that it is fully charged

Hi I have the same issue. Blaze battery said it needed charging so put it in the cradle where it comes up with the Fitbit LOGO and then shows the screen with the battery Icon in the corner saying its charging, but it never does. It haste been on charge in 2 different cradles as well as 3 different chargers, but when i remove it from the cradle it just shows the low eatery ICON. I have cleaned all contacts also. Now contacting Fitbit to see if this is a known issue.

Greetings, so know old post just curious did u ever get any resolution to this or do we just throw out our fitbit blazes after this last firmware update 17.8.402.1? Waste of money too bad I loved my Blaze should have lasred longer than a year...
