‪#‎fitbitblaze‬ or ‪#‎tomtomspark‬ ???

Need help in deciding between the Fitbit Blaze and Tomtom runner 2 Cardio+Music fitness trackers

Tomtom Runner 2 £189.99

Fitbit Blaze £159.99

Both HR Monitors
Both detachable straps
Both Smart notifications (texts etc)
Both Multi Sport trackers
Both Sleep, step and calorie tracker

Tomtom
3gb Storage for on board music, standalone GPS, syncs runs to MMR, Waterproof to 50m,

Fitbit
Needs phone GPS, Controls music on phone, does not sync runs to MMR, splash proof,

There is other small details on either side but here is my main summary

I really want to say Tomtom but I have no experience with their software or know anyone with a Tomtom watch.
Battery is a small issue, Tomtom has many hungry functions (Music, GPS, HR)
Fitbit is yet to have a full battery review but if it is like my current Fitbit (Surge) I re-charge after runs anyway so as long as either device lasts 5hours of activity using all functions I should be good to go.

I am open to suggestions on other trackers. Would rather a tracker that shares run data with MMR, especially if its a standalone (doesn't need phone) tracker

With all the positives the TomTom has I'd still go with Fitbit. Battery life seems like it would suck with the Runner 2 using all features.

Plus you can't beat Fitbit's easy to use and track software/apps. No other company comes close to making a better app for tracking fitness.

Runner? Read these recommendations:
http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/winter-sports-gadget-recommendations.html

His site includes in depth reviews of TomTom, Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, etc.

From a fitness point-of-view the Fitbit app and website are pretty basic, and easy to use. Fitbit is focused on motivating people to move, thru step competitions. There are a lot of missing features if you are into endurance activities like running, cycling and swimming. A lot of missing features.

I read that and endless other reviews lol. Spent the last week trying talk myself out of "needing' a new tracker.

I'm now thinking about waiting until my surge strap finally breaks and hopefully the surge 2.0 will be out lol(replaced once now or of warranty)

Yeah I saw a review someone did a2 hour run and the Tom Tom died. Marathons are then out of the question I guess 🙂
Thank you for your reply

Wroth a quick search i was able to find many with the runner 2, but like yhe Fitbits its still a sma percentage of users, that have sync, step, gps,and heart rate connection problems. The e are also lots of reports on step count inaccuraces woth the runner 2.
In the ideal world, everything will work perfectly, but in reality .... and it doesnt matter what company produces the tracker.

The comments section of DCRainmaker's review of TomTom has "variable" battery life (http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/tomtom-spark-review.html), as short as 2 hours, when using all features (backlight, music, GPS, etc). Depending on feature usage, you may get 5 hours. Search the comments for battery and someone from TomTom provides target battery life based on feature used.

One other option in your price range - Polar V400 paired with Rhythm Scosche+ for HRM if you don't like chest straps. Has some nice running features:

If you are willing to spend more money, then you already know from DCRainmaker recommendations what to look at. Those running GPS watches are best-in-class.

If you do not want a Fitbit another Fitness band which seems comparable to Fitbit would be the MS band 2. I've heard good things about it but the size and clunkyness is the number 1 complaint I have read from most people.

I'd still go Fitbit anyday though.
