Blaze randomly adding steps, distance, and activities

Hi all,

Over the past month, my Blaze has been randomly been adding a lot of stuff on a certain day a week. 2 weeks in a row, it added 20k+ steps on a Sunday, then it added at least 20k extra on a Wednesday, then today (Tuesday) it added about an extra 8k or so. In addition, whenever it adds extra steps, it also adds an Elliptical activity to the log, for about 80 minutes.

I'm not accidentally walking thousands of extra steps either, because in the detailed graph (see the pictures) it says a legitimate total.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it almost feels like someone who is way more active than me is somehow syncing up to my Blaze or account.

Welcome to the Community @canadian_eh. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

Thanks for the screenshots shared. It's pretty weird that you're seeing more steps in some days than others. I would like you to check if you're not using another tracker that might be affecting the step count and if your tracker isn't resetting at midnight it could also affect it.

Please try restarting your Blaze and then continue checking if your data tracks normally.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Thank you @SilviaFitbit, I have restarted my device.

I have another Fitbit (Charge 2) that you used prior to getting the Blaze. I do not use it, and I did remove it from my account, but maybe it is trying to sync somehow.

The steps do reset at midnight, because I do notice that every morning.

I'll update again in a few weeks to confirm if it worked (given the problem only seems to happen about once a week)

Thanks for getting back @canadian_eh. If you're not using your Charge 2 or charging it, then it shouldn't affect the data you're getting, you can learn more about it by checking this article: Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

If it happens again, don't hesitate to get back. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi @SilviaFitbit ,

It happened again. When I took off my Blaze to charge, it was at 2,010 steps. After an hour, I noticed it's at 11k. Now as I look at my step count via app, it is increasing by 2-3 every second (which means 7200-10800 steps in an hour, so that makes sense). After I unplug it, it stopped increasing steps like this.

So I guess the real question is why is my Blaze adding 2-3 steps per second of charging?

Thanks for getting back @canadian_eh. Sorry for the delayed reply.

It's pretty weird that your Blaze is adding every 2-3 steps when it's in the charging cable. In this case, I've shared your post with our Support team, they will continue assisting you and providing you with options.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi, my blaze does the same, just woke up and I've done nearly 10000 steps, some days can be as much as 40000.

Did you get a fix for this ?

Thanks
