Blaze receives text notifications from phone not synced to.

I gave my son my fit bit blaze after I got a new one. He is getting notifications from my phone after I have disconnected it

You only disconnected the Blaze from your Fitbit account. You still need to disconnect it from your phone. 

Go into the phones Blue youth settings and remove the Blaze.
