Just got my S8 a few weeks ago. First issue will not pair with my new phone rejects it except  in classic mode, which I know is sopposedly music Second quandary : not receiving any notifications. Lastly: My battery is not lasting 24 hours even though I'm not receiving notifications. Running fit bit app version 2.61. I've tried what's listed here and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Help!!!

Here are the steps I took to get my blaze to work with my S8:

1.  Open the fitbit app on your S8

2.  Select the Account icon

3.  Under Devices select Blaze

4.  In the Blaze menu select the trash icon at the top to unpair your device

5.  Back in Account under Devices select + Set up a Device

6.  Choose Blaze

7.  The fitbit app will search for your blaze and once it is found a code will appear on your blaze

8.  The fitbit app will show you a screen where you can input that code.  Do so.

9.  Wait while your app connects to your blaze (this may take 1-5 minutes to complete)

10. Voila!

Thanks for the info. Did all this several times. Rang Samsung who
adviseda factory reset - wasnt prepared to do this abd lose everything so I
called the fitbit help line - and after an hour it STILL wont pair except
for in classic mode which allows me to track heartrate & steps - but cant
track any exercise requiring GPS!! I've given up and now use Strava.

Turn off your all day sync and battery will last longer.

All your other problems are exactly the same as mine.  According to Samsung this is an "isolated incident" .. Yeah right!!

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with Samsung who in the end recommend a factory reset! I wasnt prepared to do this so i called the fitbit help line- after another hour it STILL wont track any exercise requiring GPS or pair unless in classic mode.

Ive given up!! At some stage ill get a new watch - but I think it will be a Garmin- very disappointed!!

Doesn't work, tries this many times.  Still no notifications still no pairing other than Bluetooth Classic.  Though I lost money I'm glad the Blaze is gone.  Still using my Surge which has always worked.

Hi, I have updated my response from above regarding my S9+ that I bought direct from Samsung with no phone vendor software on it. I could live without notifications on watch, but since bike riding is my main form of exercise, I can not live without the GPS feature. I will be moving to another solution.

Working:

  • Blaze to phone's Fitbit app synching with no problem. Sleep and walking numbers updated with no problems.
  • Blaze to Phone control of music assuming that phone is currently playing music (or maybe music app is loaded)

Not working:

  • Phone to Blaze message notification.
  • GPS synching

I spent two hours trying to set up. I am giving up on the notification. I have both Blaze and Blaze (Classic) listed as paired devices.
