Blaze running pace, distance and heart-rate inaccurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Blaze is consistently getting my running pace wrong. It is an entire minute a mile wrong. It gets the correct total time but completely misses the pace. So say I run at 10minute/mile for a total of 100 minutes running, it still shamelessly indicated a total 100 minute run yet a 9min/mile pace. Very annoying for a distance runner.

So every time I run, I have to adjust my time up. If it reads a 10.23 pace, I know I'm running at 11.23.

Very annoying on top of getting my heart rate completely wrong!

Oh wait,  it also gets the total distance wrong as well. I'll run 13 miles and it comes up that I run 15. I've tested this out on several local races. I honestly feel very cheated. I have been a faithful fitbit user for several years now. Between me and my husband, we have 6 fitbit watches and the aria weighing scale. I think it's time to hang the hat on fitbit and try something else. Garmin maybe

Hi there @NiaK, great to see you in the Fitbit community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with your pace, distance and heart rate not being recorded correctly 😕

I really appreciate you and your husband sticking with Fitbit for so long. I'd like to help you out with this!

Now, I'd like to know... when you go out for a run, do you let your tracker connect to your phone's GPS? If not, make sure that it does connect for you to get a more accurate distance and therefore, for it to calculate your pace in a better way. Also just in case, restarting your Blaze would be helpful. You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

About the heart rate tracking, I can recommend that every time you go out for a run or exercise in general, try to wear your tracker a little tighter and a little higher up on your wrist. This way, it will pick up the best heart rate signal to give you a more accurate reading.

Hope all this helps and please, let me know if you need any more help!

I’ve had this exact same issue. On two different Blazes. I was finally able to get my first Blaze replaced after begging. But the replacement also does the same thing. My husband just bought the Versa and I’m jealous because his works correctly. 🤷‍:female_sign:

I've done all this, still nothing. It's highly unreliable. There are times I'm running, my heart is pounding away, I can barely catch my breath and my blaze has a 110! I noticed that it wiil give a better reading if I have my arms down on my sides. I can do that for when walking but not running. The blaze has been very disappointing. I wouldn't let anyone I know waste their money on it
