Hello! I just purchased my Fitbit blaze today and when setting everything up when I turned it on it immediatly said i have burned around 1,265 calories. I literally just took it out of the box. It shows as far back as possible that 1842 calories each day have been burned. Is this the recommened calories I should be burning or something because i dont understand why it says it.

Hello and welcome to the forums @morganj1102317

When you first get your Fitbit, you will see burned calories. The devices begin the day at midnight, so no matter what time you set up, those burned calories will be there. This article on burned calories may help you. click to read

What you're seeing is normal and won't make any difference with your step statistics.

Your not seeing the previous day's calorie data on the Blaze, but on your dashboard.

To add to @Odyssey13's response, yes your seeing your BMR. This is the calories your body Burns to keep you alive, even if you spent the day in bed.

So why the last days? Simple you choose to look at those days, Fitbit then showed you everything it could about the day. No steps recorded so all that Fitbit knows is your BMR, which will be based on your current Gender, Weight, Fitbit can calculate the age.

My new Blaze if good, but the dashboard does not sync correctly between calories in for a specific previous day and today.  Example:  I input my intake calories in MFP and it syncs with FB.  I do this regularly and quite accurately.  When I do this over a week using the old dashboard I see my caloric intake and output correctly displayed each day.  When I switch to the new dashboard, the calorie intake shows for the current day correctly, then when I go to yesterday, it should display my  caloric intake from yesterday but it does not.  It shows my  caloric intake for today.  If I go back 10 days it still shows my caloric intake for today.

Clear code bug....but support tells me it is a MFP issue.  Really makes me want to change to a more stable platform.
