Blaze showing inaccurate distance for walks and cycling

Hi, using a Blaze synced with Samsung Galaxy S9.  Often do walks and cycling using the phone gps, but are getting different distance readings for the same route.

Example, two cycle routes today, both exactly the same route. First one came up 12.66miles, return was 13.34miles. Actual distance according to Google Maps which corresponds to my bike speedometer is 14miles. 

I get similar results on walks, again tracked with phone gps, where distance is on average 10-15% less compared to the wifes blaze, again based on exact same walks, albeit she is synced with an iphone xr

Are there any settings either on the watch or the app that may improve the accuracy?

For walking please check and set your stride detoxing @Foxman78 

When it comes to cycling.. Your location services, I'm not sure which phone we are asking about, may have a setting for high accuracy.
