Blaze, sleeping positions for sleep stages

Okay, so I have had issues with my Charge 2 and now the Blaze with the sleep stages happening intermittenly. It looks like Fitbit has the issue corrected that they had a while ago, so now I’m wondering if it is how I sleep. My tracker can see my heart rate throughout the night, so I don’t know how it can’t be tracking. I do sleep with my arms usually above my head while I’m on my stomach though. 🤷🏼‍:female_sign: I was just wondering if anyone who has consistent sleep stages info sleeps a certain way?

Hi there @Cferrebee91. Great to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

I have pretty consistent sleep stages and I don't have a specific position to sleep. I usually sleep on my back with my arms on the sides or at the height of my head. I think the main key here is to make sure that your tracker has always contact with your skin for it to pick a good heart rate signal.

There are some scenarios that you might want to keep in mind where sleep stages will not show and rather, you will see Sleep Patterns only or you will not see any sleep log at all:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Hope this helps and if you need anything else, let me know!
