Blaze steps inaccuracy

Can somebody please help? My Blaze is way off track again with stepping and I don't know what to do anymore. This morning, I walked 3 miles on the treadmill (at 3.5 mph with a 2% incline). That should normally be right around 6,000 steps, give or take a couple. The Blaze read 4,832 steps. For 3 miles. No, not right. It's been doing this now for quite a while again. I'm not getting the steps I should be getting.

FWIW, I've reset the Blaze. I've done it once, I read on here to reset it three times in a row. Did that. I've counted 100 steps; sometimes it's off by quite a bit, sometimes it's only off by 3 steps. I've counted 250 steps with the same results. I've swung my arms, I've kept my arms at a 90-degree angle while walking, I've barely swung my arms. All to no avail. I try for 18,000 steps in a day; it's difficult when my steps aren't being counted.

What else can I try? This morning, when I saw the results of my treadmill walk, I was "this close" to taking the thing off and throwing it in the trash. Being off by over 1,000 steps in 3 miles is ridiculous. I am very frustrated. I'd let the Blaze go and go back to my Flex, but the Flex doesn't have the heart rate information that I want.

It's great to see you around @PamSue.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Since you have detected that your tracker isn't being accurate by performing the 100 steps test, I've gone ahead and escalated your case to our support team, for them to take a deeper look at this. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions.

Keep me posted. Smiley Happy

Did you find a resolution  mine is the same way.  I keep it in my pocket just to get an accurate count.

Sadly, no. The Blaze is woefully inadequate when doing steps. I've tried everything: moving the Blaze further up my wrist, moving with my arms down at my sides, moving with my arms up at chest level, etc. It under-counts steps when I'm on the treadmill. I expected better than this.

I cannot put it in my pocket because I'm trying to keep an accurate heart rate. The whole thing is frustrating.
