Blaze stopped reading my heart rate information

I have tried several restarts, shutdowns, etc. My setting is always "On" and both green lights are always flashing, but I have not had a single second of HR registered for a few days now, at any wrist placement or looseness/tightness. I checked the sensor on the back, and it was half-covered in a white residue. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip, and it looked cleaner, but the white film soon returned, which makes me think it could be something coming from underneath the sensor itself.

 

The residue isn't from lotion, or sunscreen, or bug spray... it can only be salt/sweat from my own skin, if anything. I can try to provide photos but the macro lens on my phone might not be able to focus that close. Seems like I have another instance of the known Blaze sensor fragility issues from these threads:
