If you are lucky enough to be reading this before buying a blaze then don't. The straps are not for for purpose. The strap ahs failed twice within 2 months. Fitbit will replace it for free but you run the risk of loosing the fitbit when the strap fails. First time mine failed i managed to catch it before it dropped into the Bilge of a boat.
I cannot comment on other fitbit products but avoid the Blaze.

The Blaze has been out of production for months now. What you are describing happens, but it is not normal. It usually happens if either the pins get bent or have not been fully seated. I have not had an issue with either the official Fitbit bands or inexpensive 3rd party bands I bought on Amazon.

Interesting reply. I wonder why theis particular product was removed from production!. Maybe all the chat of strap faulires on the web prompted fitbit to withdraw from sale.
With regards to my fitbit. There are no signs of pins not seating correctly or pins bending. I still have the broken straps pins etc for any inspection by fitbit.
Failure has occurred at the co-bonded part of the strap and is, in my opinion a material fault. I have many years of plastic design and mold experience and these straps fail at the high stress point.
It just disappointing that Fitbit will not replace the strap with a metal version even with me offering to pay the difference.
Poor customer service In my opinion.

The Blaze was retired with the introduction of the Versa, which has many of the users requested features requested for the Blaze.
Most of these features where impossible to add to the Blaze since it doesn't have enough memory to run across true OS.
Unlike @SunsetRunner I have had a few problems with third party bands, no problems with the Fitbit version.

@Nidgester There are inexpensive leather and metal bands on Amazon. I have purchased leather ones for the Charge 2, the Ionic, the Blaze and the Versa and all have worked well at around $10. I bought this one almost 3 years ago and it is still intact.
