Blaze success: Time and Sync

Got a new Blaze, it was exactly 2 hours off, went in and changed the time zone and that fixed that.  Also it was not syncing and I was upset because I'm not a techy person.  So I don't know which of these helped because I did them all 3 at once: I'm syncing to my Mac so I shut off Bluetooth and Bluetooth scanning on my phone, restarted my computer, and opened Firefox.

And I have a question, does the Blaze reset at midnight so I wake up with zero steps on it?
