Hello all,

I just purchased the Blaze last night, and got everything up and going on it. The phone call notification works, calendar notification works, but it will NOT display any incoming text messages to my phone. It appears to be syncing but not my texts.  Any help is appreciated.  thanks

@lillyafitbit

Would it be possible for Fitbit to create a simple survey that could be shared to everyone in this forum too collect information about:

* Fitbit device
* Phone brand, model & os
* Default messaging app
* Fitbit app version
* Issues/fixes/workaround used

Would help everyone to see what works, didn't work, etc and unclutter the threads some

App version 3.6 report:

So I saw that there was another new update pushed out on 9/16/2019 with the change log stating bug fixes, bringing it up to V3.6. I promptly installed it, rebooted phone and watch, and tested text notifications. I can confirm that V3.6 DID NOT fix the problem. So this is now the 2nd app update pushed out since Fitbit acknowledged that they're working on it, but still no fix. I rolled back to my sideloaded V2.9 (again) and everything works again.

For the record, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 running stock Pie 9.0 (Verizon) and a Fitbit Blaze. I have found that ANY messaging app that is listed under the "Text Messages" notification selection screen will not notify me on my Blaze, even if I have that app notify me using the "App Notifications" selection screen. In other words, I have Android Messages chosen under the Text Messages notification menu and Google Hangouts checked in the App Notifications. I do not get notifications on my Blaze for EITHER of those apps, even if I switch them so that Hangouts is my Text Messages app and Android Messages is checked in App Notifications. I still receive notifications for ALL of my other apps selected under the Calendar Events, E-mails, and App Notifications selection screens. It's only the apps registered under the Text Messages menu that don't work.

@LiliyaFitbit : This is a software regression issue on Fitbit's side that can be easily and repeatedly reproduced to occur only after V2.9. Just using sideloaded V2.9 forever is not a solution for me as it's the old GUI and I like the new Sleep Score and other new features. Can you please provide a less ambiguous timeline on when this is targeted to be fixed? ("We're working on it" doesn't help when 2 bug fixes have been released since then without fixing THIS bug.) THANKS!

EDIT: Ignore this. Deleted duplicate post entered on wrong thread.

@SunsetRunner   3.6.1 update did NOT fix the issue for me.

To expand:

I installed the Android version 3.6.1 (released on 9/19/2019) on my Galaxy S8 and it did NOT fix the problem. I rebooted both my phone and Blaze, and tested with text messages (using Google Messages), making sure Google Messages was set as the active app in the "Text Messages" notification menu in the FitBit app. I also tested with Hangouts, same problem. All other notifications continue to display on my Blaze, just not Hangouts or Google Messages.

I've rolled back to V2.9 again (and all text notifications work again) and until I see a post here confirming a new update has resolved this bug, I will not upgrade.

Yeah it seems to be worse. My calls aren't always displaying anymore either. Been two months. I would've thought it would've been fixed by now.

So I checked in with FB Support about my ticket, since it has been over two months now since the issue started. This was my response, thought I would share it:

---

We appreciate you getting back to us and letting us know that you are still not receiving text notifications on your Blaze.

We would like to let you know that we are working hard to come up with a concrete solution. We want to make sure that when a resolution is rolled out, it will address the issue totally and not have any other problems. We cannot promise a specific time frame yet as to when the issue will be resolved.

However we know how important it is to you to check your progress on your daily activity, that is why as of the moment, we advise keeping your Fitbit app up to date as the fix may be rolled out anytime soon.

We appreciate your patience and understanding of this matter. Let us know if there's anything else that we can assist you with at the moment.

Version 3.7 doesn't seem to have fixed the issue.

Today when I updated, my blaze had not synchronized since Monday afternoon, so for 48 hours.

This is just plain silly now.

@eps105

@SunsetRunner

Have you tried turning off message notifications and enabling them through the App notifications ?

This was one of the things which worked with my Blaze and Samsung S5.

I also turned off and unpaired Bluetooth Classic and just used standard Bluetooth pairing.

Do you mean through the Fitbit app notifications? Yes. App notifications were working with any app other than Android messages. Now with the new app released today, app notifications seem to have stopped.
