Hello all,

I just purchased the Blaze last night, and got everything up and going on it. The phone call notification works, calendar notification works, but it will NOT display any incoming text messages to my phone. It appears to be syncing but not my texts.  Any help is appreciated.  thanks

I'm running Android 9, version 1.1 (Samsung Galaxy S10), with a Fitbit
Blaze. I've went back to the old version of the app, getting more
notifications than I was, but still not all text messages. The phone is
basically brand new, Blaze is less than 2 years old. If I have to upgrade,
it definitely won't be to another Fitbit.

@Aprildixon1998 your post simply confirms what Fitbit has been staring. That they are aware of notification issues with a few phones running Android 9 and has nothing to do with the tracker.

I also notice that you have an S10 which still is not on the tested and made sure to work list

If you look at this thread history,  you'll find several people including myself that have said how to do it. But anyways, Google Fitbit Version: 2.90. I used the first website that came up. Can't tell you name because this forum won't let me. Download version 2.90.  Once sure you have it, remove version 3.20 from phone. Find Version 2.90 in phone and click on it. Phone will fuss that it's not from approved site. I ignored and loaded anyways. Set all notification parameters as you have. Go into phone settings and find Fitbit app. Make sure all notifications are enabled, email, SMS, etc. Go into play store, find Fitbit. It will want to update. Don't. Click on 3 dots upper right. De-select auto update or it'll nag you and auto update.

Make sure you go to your phone's settings > Notifications & Apps > Apps > Fitbit app > Notifications and allow all the permissions.

Your assistance in this thread has been less then helpful and less then forthright.

Please stop convoluting the information.

This is a FitBit issue. It IS NOT a phone issue.

Anyone else notice that at some point over the weekend it worked?  I can't say when for certain as I wasn't wearing it, but noticed I had readable messages i received on Sunday and Monday...none since.

Good to know, I went back to 2.9 version where everything works. Waiting for a fix to come out but starting to really doubt one will. When my blaze gives out, going to Samsung galaxy watch.

You would think the Fitbit programmers would quality check their updates before they post them.  They had to know their updates did not work with all watches.

Going back to version 2.9 also worked for me.  Google Pixel XL with Google Messages as my default sms app.

How do we know when the bug in a new release has been addressed?  The release notes are not specific enough to tell.

Another person recently posted that they updated to the latest Version 3.5 and it worked for SMS messaging. I have not had the time to mess with it yet but was wondering if anybody else has tried this version yet with positive results? I have not seen any posting from Fitbit about a bug fix being out there for the Blaze.

I am on 3.5 and it did not fix it. Another group of people with issues noticed that the app "Fit Notifications" somehow gets around whatever issue Fitbit has with getting notifications to work, and that one works just fine for my phone and Blaze.

I just tried 3.5.  It did not fix the issue, so I reverted back to 2.9.  I'm on an unlocked LG G6 running Android 8.0

I have a Blaze and a Samsung Galaxy s10. I downloaded the app called 'Fit
Notifications' and I'm receiving texts, emails, & calls again. For me,
downloading the Fitbit version 2.9 worked for a bit, but not long. (Yes, I
know, the S10 isn't a supported device, which is another stupid move by
Fitbit in my opinion).
