Blaze won’t keep a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Blaze won’t keep a charge for more than a few hours. When I put it in the charger, the screen indicates that it’s charging and I can also see when the screen indicates the watch is fully charged. After wearing it for fewer than six hours, it complete dies and shuts off. There’s still just enough battery to let me turn the screen on, but I immediately get the low battery warning on the screen.

Same thing here. I tried all that and nothing helped.  Also, often when the battery is dead, or very low, I put it on charge and it immediately  shows as full again, which is impossible. If I take it off, it drops again as soon as I start to use it as it obviously isn't fully charged. If I leave it on charge for an hour or two it continues to show fully charged while in the charger, then drops off again after 4-6 hours, totally dead by the end of the day.

There must be more going on for the charging display to be showing as full when it isn't - a software glitch?

I just been offered the standard 25% off a new one. Currently looking at Garmins.

Yep mine does the exact same thing. It is very alarming that all of a sudden so many people as of late have this exact same problem. I too looked at garmins, but worried about their battery life. Best I've seen is the Amazfit Bip.

I am throwing my name and information into this ring.  I bought my Blaze in 2016 and it has been a (mostly) reliable tool.  Then this last week I had to charge my Blaze more often than usual.  I figured "well, its almost 3 years old, so for tech, its had a good run" and chalked it up to its age and a failing battery.  However, upon visiting this forum, it appears that others with newer equipment are having similar problems.  So I am now leaning more towards the "bug" effect.

Like many others here, my blaze (even after a full nights charge) will proceed to show half or little to no battery after only a few hours.  I have attempted the suggested solutions that have been shared here, including a hard reset, turning off all notifications and auto-syncing, and even removing Bluetooth connections so that it is completely isolated from my phone.  All to no significant effects or improvements.  Please tell us there is a solution in the works and that we wont be forced into purchasing new equipment.

I have been looking out on my email and have yet to receive any correspondence from FITBIT.

@LizzyFitbit I am having similar issues with my 18 mo old Blaze. After following all the battery charging recommendations, charging overnight, and the display showing a full charge, the Blaze will show low battery and shut down within hours.

When charging, it starts to charge (red bars) but within a few minutes has gone up to over 50% and within less than an hour is reporting full again - Yet again if I shutdown the blaze and charge it, it carries on charging from a low charge state.

This is a new phenomenon after over a year of daily use.  everyone one this board is familiar with the standard charging protocols, but this seems like an unlikely coincidence.

Any assistance is appreciated!

I’ve tried all of the suggestions but my blaze will not keep a charge. It just started this. I need help. Did you all do an update to kill the battery life to make people upgrade?

My blaze has begun to have the same charging problems as well. I bought it in Feb 2018. The battery usually would last me 4-5 days, even while receiving all the notifications through the watch. As of 2 weeks ago, the charge has been lasting less and less. Just yesterday, I charged my Blaze all night, used it during a race with notifications turned off, and the Blaze battery was fully dead in the evening. Charged it again for a few hours, wore it to sleep, and the morning I wake up to another dead battery. This is getting really frustrating. I’ve tried all the suggestions on this feed and now I’m reaching out to have a case started as well.

How frustrating when you go out on your run and your watch is DEAD... charged all night and yet DEAD within a couple of hours.  How bad is it that we rely on this kind of data to keep us motivated.  Running last night sucked because A. my blaze was dead.  B. no tracking of my run C. how many calories I burned on my run and  I could go on and on with this.... it's frustrating that you break the bank for a watch that promises you and less than a year it's dead.   Who has that kind of money to spend on something like this... WHY??  I have spent just about half the morning reading posts of everyone having this same issue... NO RECALL  tried everything and still DEAD  battery in a short amount of time...

Some one needs to fix this and 25% off the next purchase why would we want that just fix what we already have.

Totally disappointed in this.

I've got a Ticwatch Mobvoi S2 now, the Fitbit is in landfill.

It can't just be a personal issue as so many of us seem to have it, which means it's either an update, or something specific to a bath of them.

Whatever it is I wish everyone good luck, 25% off a device that may give up after a few months is ridiculous, I'm glad I have the watch I have now as it beats any Fitbit product.

I presume this mesaage will indeed be deleted as my previous one was too, if it is it isn't a big loss.

Godspeed y'all

I have reset the device two or three times, left it to charge over night, and changed all settings that would extend battery life but still cannot seem to get more than 5 or 6 hours out of it.

Exactly, everyone is facing the same issue. Coincidence? I think not.

Best Answer

I have just begun having the same issue. This came on suddenly and based on numerous forum topics and comments, there are so many others experiencing the same issue, which also happened suddenly. I believe it must be a technical issue.  I have tried everything you suggested and more. I have no more time to commit to this problem. Please dig further into the issue.

It really has to be something their end, either with an update or a combination of factors, I just don't understand why they can't investigate, keep people informed and if it is their fault rectify is and be honest.

Instead here is 25% another potential shoddy product.

From the posts in this chain alone, this has been an ongoing issue for 6+ weeks and there is still no solution?

Just imagine those that don't use the forums, I bet we are the tip of a Titanic sinking iceberg.

I'm not bothered now for me as I say, I just want to know what went wrong and for everyone else to get it fixed.
