When I work out in the elliptical I'm getting different stats than what I see on my Fitbit. Which is more accurate? What should I calculate with my calories and distance when the machine and watch says something completely different. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there something I can do differently?

Hi, @Casspowe, your Fitbit knows your gender, age, height and weight.  It also is reading your heartrate.  All these things are important for calculating your calorie burn, so I would trust the Fitbit's information on that and think it would be more accurate than the machine.

For an elliptical workout the distance will be calculated by multiplying steps times stride length.  Since your elliptical stride length is likely to be very different from your usual walking or running stride, I would guess that the distance reported on the elliptical machine would be more accurate than the Fitbit's recorded distance.   You could set a custom stride length before you start your elliptical workout and then reset it afterwards (don't forget to sync each time) if you want to try to make the Fitbit distance more accurate.
