Calibration of Blaze using GPS data

Does anyone know if the Blaze calibrates itself, by using the data when it is connected to GPS? I'm back in the Fitbit community after a year with an Apple Watch, and this is one of the useful things it did. So, I would go out for a run with the GPS connected to my phone, and then when I went out for a run without my phone it would have an accurate picture of distance because it had worked out my stride length using a decent amount of data.

If not I will certainly request the feature.

Hi there @rjback. Good to see you around! 🙂

At the moment, your tracker will calculate your distance based on your stride lenght. For accurate results, you can measure yours by following the instructions on this post. Whenever you go for a run, a walk or a hike for example and use the  GPS functionality, the distance will rely on the GPS information rather than on the distance recorded by your tracker but will have no effect when your tracker is working on its own and you don't have your phone with you. I think you can go ahead and suggest something like this in the Feature Suggestion board where others will be able to add their votes and comments to your idea and possibly see this implemented in the future.

Let me know if you need anything else!
