I've been having the same exact problem. by 9 in the morning yesterday it showed I'd burned 1500 calories. I thought it was a weird fluke so I let it go.

Today, I woke up, and I've burned 2200+ calories, while I was sleeping, and NOT wearing the tracker. Called customer service and he explained to me like I was an idiot that you know, you burn calories while you sleep. Really? 2200 Calories. DIdn't even listen.

I've done all the resests, and finally was told, wait til it resets after midnight and call back tomorrow. Code for, I can't help you and just want to get off the phone.

So frustrating.

Well in a way he is correct, once the calories fitbit says has been added, for whatever reason,  to the day, they can not be removed.  Therefore the only way to know if anything has changed is to wait until the daily reset at midnight and look at tomorrow.

2000 does sound like a lot for the bmr.

You said you where not wearing the Fitbit, was there any steps recorded while nor wearing it? I ask because people have placed there fitbits on tables next to something vibrating, and this vibration has been detected as walking.  I got 2K while it was sitting on the dryer during a shower.

A restart may straighten out the cause, but will not remove the excess calories, so workout waiting for tomorrow it will be impossible to confirm.

I just purchased the blaze and set it up after only 153 steps says I've burned 1,160 calories. Also shows calories burned for several months back. Is there a way to zero calorie count?

@xobxr as for the Fitbit, calander,  when asking to display a past date, there is some data like calories that are calculated at the time of generating the page. You requested what fitbit knows about a date, fitbit will then do its best to tell you what it knows. In the case of a day before you had an acvount on Fitbit, based on your current, weight, age, height, gender, Fitbit kniws about what your BMR is. Since there is no record of movement, Fitbit uses your current BMR to figure out the calories you burnt, not taking into consideration any walking that might have been down
