I often jump rope between weightlifting sets. I would like to have the entire workout tracked, but be able to set a 1 minute timer (that buzzes when finished like the timer does) during the workout (so show me the timer and track the workout in the background). Then when I am done with the timer, I can go back to showing the workout screen with my heart rate. Is that possible on the Blaze or any other FitBit?

Hi, @kb2222, the short answer is no. None of the Fitbits currently allow you to run two functions (timer and workout) at the same time.
Of course you can always manually monitor your Blaze during workouts to see the timer counting and decide when to stop jumping rope. But you will not be able to set a buzz.

I'm pretty disappointed by this. One of the main reasons I bought a fitbit was to be able to track my heart rate while lifting AND use it to time my rest periods. It seems like they go hand and hand and should be added to the "Weight Lifting" App.

Hi, @gboss, you can do this, of course, you just won't get an alarm. I often use it exactly that way to track my recovery time during a workout.
While in workout mode you can choose "time elapsed" as one of your stats. Then when you have finished a set, just watch until the appropriate rest time has elapsed, then start the next set.

Totally agree with gboss. It seems pretty ridiculous that you can’t use the countdown timer during one of the exercise modes. If I’m doing “workout” or “boot camp”, I may be doing multiple things that I am doing for different times. I just assumed that I could use the countdown function to track this while the exercise mode continued to track my overall workout. I’m rather shocked to learn that it can’t. This seems like a pretty obvious need and a good target for a firmware upgrade.

When I lift weights, I have heart rate and timer showing. I can time between sets rather easily.

Yes but that requires you to keep looking at your band. If I’m doing 5 minutes of cleans, I have to stop every time I want to look at my wrist. I would much rather just keep going until I feel the vibration on my wrist. I think the vibration “signal” is brilliant...you don’t have to worry about not being able to hear it or see it. But it would be nice if you could actually use it as part of the workout.

I have an interval timer on my phone that I have allowed notifications to my watch enabled.
Not as convenient but certainly works

I have a Fitbit luxe which I really love but I’ve had to stop using it because of this same thing. It’s ridiculous not being able to use the timer (or countdown) while working out. I ended up by using again the Apple Watch which lets me do this.
Fitbit could really add this feature. It’s not such a big deal…
