Someone gave me an blaze. the blaze is sync'd to their account. I can not get it to sync with my Mac

Nice friend to give you a Blaze!
You will need to set it up as a new device on a new account, unless you previously had a Fitbit account. It shouldn't still sync to their account, but they can delete it on their mobile device.

Sorry @hazelrigg , there is no factory reset for the Blaze.
Have you tried setting it up from scratch?

It's great to have you here @hazelrigg! Thanks for the advice provided @Odyssey13. In this case, I would like you to make sure that you're following this set up procedure. Are you getting any error that's not letting you set up the tracker?
