When I try to update Blaze It connects to phone for a short time & then says "lost contact". I always find the Bluetooth keeps disconnecting within 10 minutes of pairing & I preume this is some of the problem but I don't know. Have tried turning blaze off and on as well as holding yjr left and bottom right button which evidently resets the blaze
The red line goes approx a 1/3 accross the Blaze and then the phone app says lost connection with Blaze

Welcome to the Community @iper, thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself.
If you are having issues updating your tracker, I recommend restarting your Blaze and then take a look at this post and confirm you are following those steps in order to update it. But if the issue is directly with syncing, I recommend following the instructions provided in the Having trouble syncing? post.

None of these things helped. I returned it to the store.
