Can the display be turned off while charging?

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the display while charging? It's stuck on the clock face and my stats are just rotating rapidly. It is charging, but just wondering if I can put it to sleep. I don't want it to eventually burn into the screen and it would be annoying for the light to be flipping around if I charge while I sleep. Thanks for any info anyone might have.

That's strange, mine goes blank after a while when charging. It might be worth doing a restart:

My screen also turns off after less than a minute.

I wish it would show the status of the charge, instead of going blank during charge.

@BevinVA  While it is charging, you can either open the charger and then close to see the large battery icon, or swipe to another screen to see small battery indicator.

Thank you. I restarted it and it's doing exactly as you described. Weird, because before I restarted, it was stuck on and flipping around like crazy. 😛
