Can you reinstall firmware updates?

I just recieved my Fitbit Blaze.  When I installed and launched the app from my Android phone, it stated it had to do a firmware update.  I put the Blaze in the charger, set the phone down next to it and walked away for about 2 hours.

When I came back, the Blaze had a red X in a circle on the screen, and when I pressed the left button, it displayed the Clock Error - Go to the Fitbit mobile app and try another clock.  I tried changing the clock and resyncing, and each time, I recieved the Clock error.

I've tried changing the clock from my phone and from the Windows 10 app on my computer.  I've turned bluetooth off and on and uninstalled and reinstalled the apps from both phone and computer.  I've even reset the Blaze several times by holding the left button and bottom right button several times, but the only screens I get are the Clock error, and when in the charging cradle, the red X in the red circle.

I'm thinking there was an issue with the unit taking the firmware, and I was hoping there was a way I could try to reinstall it.  I truly hope it's not bricked.  Any help or guidence would be appreciated.  Thanks

Hi there @CMW3. Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

I would recommend setting up your tracker as a new device and this should lead your tracker to update if it didn't go through the first time. First, make sure to restart it by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot and after that, you can proceed to set up your tracker as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the bottom right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

When setting up your tracker as a new device, it should go into the update mode again and leave it there until it's completed.

If that doesn't work, you can feel free to follow @WendyB's suggestion of getting in touch with Support.

Let us know if this makes any difference.

ferdinand, the firmware update crashes the charger point in the watch. So people go out and purchase a new watch...I have replaced the battery and still the same issue persists. I would like a downgrade firmware from an earlier date.
