I just purchased the Blaze and LOVE it. Question my goal right now is 500 steps an hour in addition to my workouts. I noticed on the 'today' screen it counts 'steps this hour'. Love this feature as with the zip I would always have to write them down and keep up. However, I noticed once the 250 is met it no longer shows this function. So, my question is.... 1) how do I either change my goal to increase my steps per hour to incease from 250 so it will display or 2) is there any other option to keep up with hourly steps besides mental/paper math? A simple solution for those who want to keep up with more steps would be to increase goal or to keep the hourly tracker on so it counts the full 60 minutes.
Help a girl out 🙂 Thanks ...

Hey @Emagine! 😄 Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!
Currently, the Reminders To Move feature is to remind people to stay active during the day. This should do for about 2-3 minutes of walking around and to avoid being sedentary. Now, the current goal is of 250 steps every hour (for the hours you choose) but you can not increase that amount at the moment.
So, to answer your two questions, 1. There is no way to increase the hourly goal to more than 250 steps at the moment and 2. There is no way to keep track of more steps per hour other than looking at your steps graph on your app/online dashboard.
You can also create an activity record by going to your dashboard online, go to the log section at the top of the screen, choose Activities and go down to "Log Activities". Click on the stopwatch at the right side that says "Activity record" as you can see in the image below:
and enter the name of the activity "Walk" for example, enter the starting time and the ending time (if you want to keep track of your steps hourly, to this for every hour during the day that you want to track) and save the changes and the number of steps for that activity record that you will create will appear as you can see in the image below:
Hope this helps and if you come up with any other questions, let me know, I'll be happy to answer them for you! 🙂

I was also looking for a "change steps per hour goal" I'd love to see this implemented in a update sometime. I understand 250 is just to keep people moving, but it'd help to have the option to customize it for those who want to be a bit more active than just moving. I love that my watch pokes at me to move each hour, but it'd be nice to be able to change that to a higher count if we wanted to, leaving 250 as a default starting count.

I agree, this needs to be customizable to keep challenging myself.
I thought this was the point to this device!
Step it up Fitbit!

A warm welcome to the Community @Subtlehustle and @Valkaryie.
I think that this would be a great to have. Please take a look at the Increase or Customize Reminder to Move from 250 Steps/Hr request and check what our team have to say about it. Keep in mind that you can always visit our feature suggestions board and share your ideas.
Happy stepping!

This is a key thing to using a fitbit, if only reminded to take 250 steps for 10hrs it puts you no where near the recommended 10000 a day. I'd also like to see the reminder be customisable, 10minutes before the hours time is up dosent work for me all the time. This definitely has to be considered for the next update.

Hi there,
thanks for that answer, i was wondering the same thing and have an additional question. If i get the 250 steps within an hour it, my charge 2 does not send me reminders every hour. Is there a way to change it so I do et the reminder?
Thanks!

Hi everyone! Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions on this.
I've actually found that most of these things are not something that is currently planned to implement, so I don't think we will see something like this anytime soon. For more information, you can see the feature suggestion here.
If you have more questions, let me know!

I am looking for the same thing... customizable steps per hour.
This would be a big help to me and others on reaching daily step goals.
I would also like a reminder to get steps hourly regardless of if I have / have not achieved my step goal.

Sounds like you are saying that Fitbit will do nothing in response to this very sensible suggestion!
Please ask Fitbit think again, and to have a lot more respect for its customers wishes and views!
Have you considered that for older or people, 250 steps hourly target will be FAR too much? So they will just have to turn those reminders off and get no value from this feature, unless Fitbit allows people to set their own target.
Come on, you let people set their own daily steps target, so let them set their own hourly steps target too!
EDIT. Over 1200 Votes for this improvement now, but Fitbit have not changed their position and the comments on that thread are locked! So noone is allowed even to add new comments!
Seems high time for a rethink from Fitbit on this?

Really disappointing that Fitbit seems to have responded on this board as though it's listening to this suggestion (directing users to the feature suggestion board), and then on that board has told users they're commenting in the wrong place (redirecting them back to the same post they've already responded to) and eventually locked the comments. Over 1,200 people have voted to say this suggestion should be implemented. Many have written to say they're shocked it's not already a feature (counting myself among those - what's the point of a daily goal if the device doesn't give you the ability to customize your reminders so you reach it? just for self-loathing?). Yet another disappointing response from Fitbit. Sadly I'm used to it now - will never be buying another Fitbit device.
